You can still post comments/questions specific to Velomap in the Velomap section on Openmtbmap and vice versa (this is due to both websites having different databases. People who pay 50€ or more, may email me and I manually copy the login to both sites.)

Note2: if you already paid in the past / have an login and would like to extend your membership, please login, then you will see the options!

Pay with Paypal
Just follow the Paypal Button. After payment you get a link sent by mail which enables you to create an account on VeloMap.org. If you don't receive an email for login within 5 minutes after sending the payment, please look into your Spam folder.

There are 2 Options

1. First year support/access to downloads for €20, then € 15 for each year. You can cancel the payment whenever you like on Paypal. (needs a credit card linked to your Paypal Account.). If you don't cancel before the year is over, the payment will continue each year - It's a subscription.

2. Pay for a fixed term. 20€ for 1 year, 37€ for 2 years ... and so on. See the dropdown box.

Please select your desired type of membership. - Bitte Zahlungsoptionen zur Mitgliedschaft auswählen.

Please choose your country of residence - Bitte Land auswählen wo du wohnst (Hauptwohnsitz)

Pay with Credit or Debit Card

Just choose amount/time and fill out - your username/password is directly created! I actually never get your credit card data - Your credit card information is securely handled via Stripe. Also possible to pay with Visa debit and Mastercard debit card, but not with Maestro. (I'm sorry that I need to ask for your location - this is due to EU VAT laws effective since 2018). Pay via Bank transfer

Sorry - thanks to the EU VATMOSS rules I cannot offer payment via simple Bank transfer for now. There is one workaround though - you can open up a Paypal Account - wire money to it, and then use it to pay (no subscriptions - one time payments only without credit card). I really dislike this situation - but cannot change it for now as otherwise my administrative burden is far too high. I'm not a fan of PayPal at all (that's why the default gateway is Stripe) - but for now there is no better possibility if you have no credit card - or don't want to use your credit card online. For people who do not want to pay via Paypal/Credit Card, I have opened up a bank account. In case you want to receive a membership please wire the money, and send me an email with your requested Username. (note as it usually takes 2 working days for the money to be credited to the bank account I will send you your login data 2-4 days later). Once the money is credited to my account, I will send you an email with your login data ( 2-4 days later). You can also put your requested Username and your email into the reference text (replace "@" with "AT" as @ is not allowed on the reference form), this makes it easier for me. (if you don't receive an account within 5 working days, drop me a mail (my email is felix At velomap.org).   20€ gets you 1 year, 37€ 2 years, 50€ 3 years, 65€ 4 years, 100€ 8 years, 200€ or more lifelong (as long as I run velomap.org) Membership Access.

My bank account data is:

new bank account data soon. Please don't use the old account data anymore - due to neu EU Vat regulations as of 1.1.2018 (see more about it on #Vatmoss on Twitter for example). I am working hard on offering a new solution to pay/donate via bank transfer.

    Changing Colors of maps

I am attempting to change some of the colors of maps, like making the ocean blue rather than white using Typwiz6.

I can change the colors in a .typ file, but so far, has not been able to figure out how to get the change to show up on my Tactix Delta. Have modifed the .typ files believed was in use in the /garmin/VeloMap/denmark directory, also tried the velomap_denmark_change_layout.exe – but so far no luck.

How do I modify the colors on the active map on my watch and in Basecamp ?

    Regards
    Michael

The ocean is always blue – if not there is a map data problem and the ocean is missing!
you need to modify the .typ that is in use – then afterwards send the map. Do not use the change layout.exe afterwards – it will restore the original .typ file. Same will happen on map update.

Still experimenting, but it appears that a given Velo/OpenMBT map, that shows buildings, ocean on my Montana 700i – does not on my Tactix Delta.

I modify the .typ using typwiz – opening the map loaded in Basecamp, then do an install. That works fine for the Montana.

Downloading an alternative map to compare.

I have map detail settings set to ‘most’

        Regards

I can confirm, at even when downloading a ready-to-go .img file from here or other sites, I see the buildings on my Montana 700i, but not on the Tactix Delta/Fenix 6x.

Have gone through converting all polygons to 16 bit just to be sure, but no luck. Looks like the watch is filtering buildings.

          Any clue ?

do not use details at most – usually normal is much better. The VeloMap has the buildings as a separate layer – so you need to enable them / send them included or separate. The OpenMTBMaps have the buildings in the map so they definitely should show up – but maybe Tactix Delta uses a 64 colour display like the Fenix? Then use the Fenix layout for them. The buildings are not visible for Fenix without using Fenix layout – as they resort to white. The fenix definitely shows buildings – I have a Fenix 6x Pro for debugging myself and use it from time to time with the maps.

I seem to be having some problems with the new versions of the maps. Having downloaded the latest versions of GB and Spain to basecamp I noticed that I had to zoom into 0.2miles instead 0f 0.5miles before all minor roads, tracks and footpaths etc are displayed. Not exactly a catastrophe but still inconvenient.

The second difference is more awkward. Having downloaded the Spainish map, velo version, to both my Etrex 20 and Etrex 30 garmins, there seems to be a problem at certain magnifications. As I zoom in the roads are being overwritten by something. It looks to me as though the buildings are not scaling correctly at some intermediate zoom levels but are displaying at a larger scale and overwriting other information such as roads. At a larger magnification such as 500ft the buildings appear to display correctly.

Is there anything I can do to correct either of these features?

    Peter

    • extremecarver

could you please show me a picture or screenshot of the second problem. The first is intentional – I changed the zoom scales because in Europe things got to crowded – I did this 6-7 months ago – I wrote about it in the newsletter/frontpage.

    Hallo Extremcarver,
